Times are changing around cybersecurity + compliance readiness and the numbers are growing from hundreds to thousands of partners who recognize this need. Many realize what is necessary to service clients upmarket, in any regulated industry or in a particular geography that requires a formal cybersecurity posture enhancement via a Framework. As an example there is an estimated 20,000 DOD direct contractors aka “Prime’s” or “Primary Contractors” that make up the DIB (Defense Industrial Base) that will require CMMC over the next couple years but beyond those “Prime’s” there are an estimated 300,000 businesses that will be impacted by CMMC as vendors of those Primes who will require some form of compliance at the level 1 self assessment / self attestation level. Same is taking shape with FTC Safeguards with vendors who collect loan data now being required to comply beyond the banks that make the loans… we are just getting started and MSPs have a choice to level up or be left behind.
